Transom Windows Etc.
I don't want to neglect to show you the trim work. The trim carpenters have been out several times and trimmed out the basement and pretty much finished up the rest of the trim.

Day 409 -- A Year of HVAC
We are over 400 days of construction now, and the Wilson's definitely hold the record for the longest time on this job site (besides me of course!). They started way back last summer. They are doing all the HVAC work. That includes digging the lines for all the geothermal, running all the water lines for the floor heat in both the basement and on the main floor, repairing a break in those water lines, running all the ductwork for the traditional heat and the AC, all the ventilation, installing the thermostats AND as if that wasn't enough, they cut the sheet metal for my laundry room and pantry backsplashes!
A FEW PICTURES FROM PAST POSTS:
early on they put the tubing in the basement floor
digging the geothermal lines
duct work
lots of duct work
radiant floor heat lines
that one and only puncture in the line!
AND FINISHING UP IN THE MECHANICAL ROOM . . .
They will be back to fire it all up and of course for yearly maintenance,
but for now they are done!
Thank you for all those many, many hours of work!
AND - stay tuned for pictures of the backsplashes yet to come!

Day 402 - August 17 - Electrifying!
The electricians have been here several days this week and WOW! What a difference light makes :). With all the natural light in this house, we don't need many lights on during the day but we just weren't able to do -- or see -- much out here at night. They put in all the outlets, switches, fixtures and fans and of course the electrical panels. They also had to dig out several outlets that were covered up by the drywallers! Oops.

Countertops Installed This Week
This week our countertops were installed. There was a small glitch when two of the pieces were incorrectly cut and had to be redone but it was quickly and perfectly corrected. All of the counters look great and now I can't wait to cook!
I have this dark granite on my white cabinets.
And I used this lighter granite on the island and on the
breakfast bar.
This flashy granite is in the master bathroom!
And this is in the powder room. It will have a vessel sink.
The two bathrooms upstairs look like this. This is a solid surface material.

Sunshine & Rain on Robinhood Lane
I was out at the house at 8:30 this morning and it was so beautiful out there. I only had my phone camera to take photos with, but I wanted to try to capture the beauty of the rain clouds and the sunshine. We are in the midst of drought and regrettably we only had a few drops of rain before it was over but it was beautiful watch it move through the countryside.

August Begins with Hardwood Floors
Last week the floor guys came and worked on the hardwood floors. They sanded, stained, and put on two coats of sealer. These floor boards are quarter and rift sawn oak and they look amazing.
