A Weekend to Feel Good About

We had a great weekend and feel like we made great strides on the decking because we had Bryan's sister, Mary, and her husband, Joel, help us out this weekend. It was fun having someone around and we all had a 'campout' here at the house. We can't thank them enough!

I'm pretty sure they think we have too much porch!! :)
Right, guys?

We also cleaned windows.

Bryan put in porch lights.

And the concrete guys came and framed up our sidewalk, which will be poured on Monday.

My Craftsman Influence Kitchen

This is finally starting to look like a completed kitchen!

The top drawer has to be cut down because it hits the gas line.
The tile backsplash  --  white subway tiles with green glass tiles and Motawi Tileworks tile accents.

The lights over the sink and over the island are all from Schoolhouse Electric in Portland.

All the appliances are in except the refrigerator. We are using the refrigerator we have in our current house.

The island and this cabinet are stained oak.
I am so anxious to get moved in and actually use this kitchen.
But as you can see we are kind of living out of the pantry! : )

Day 402 - August 17 - Electrifying!

The electricians have been here several days this week and WOW! What a difference light makes :). With all the natural light in this house, we don't need many lights on during the day but we just weren't able to do  -- or see --  much out here at night. They put in all the outlets, switches, fixtures and fans and of course the electrical panels. They also had to dig out several outlets that were covered up by the drywallers! Oops.

Thanks, guys!

HAPPY 2012! -- Day 175 -- January 3

Things seem to slow down with colder weather and the holidays. But some things are getting done.
The retaining walls have been built.

And we had them put in a firepit.

The electricians have been working.

The heating and cooler guys have been here.
These are valves for the heating system.

The central vac system is in.

The gas lines are in. (propane)

The framer built this arch for me.
I'm really excited about how this arch will look when the cabinets are in.

They are also working on putting up the carsiding on the porch ceiling.

And the plumber has been working on the septic system.
We are talking to insulation contractors and drywall contractors.

We have spent a good deal of time cleaning up inside and out and Bryan has been smoothing and grading the whole area.

Siding, Porch Columns -- November 19 -- Day 130

Things were pretty busy for a Saturday. A neighbor came by and cut some fire wood. The framers, who are almost done, worked on the siding and the porch. The electrician was there and we walked through the house planning all the lights and outlets. The HVAC guys worked digging some more trenches. Bryan cooked brats on the grill and fed anyone who would eat.

siding done on the south side  --  this siding looks really good -- I love the color!
It is James Hardie cement board siding in Mountain Sage.
siding is going on the garage and the trim is getting painted
